E-Content and Alumni Portal Launched by Chancellor

OUM recently celebrated its seventh anniversary with the launching of its e-content project and Alumni Portal by the Chancellor, YABhg Datin Seri Jeanne Abdullah.
The University embarked on the e-content project to complement its print modules. This project involves the creation of dynamic web pages used by learners as part of their learning resources.
Interactive multimedia and graphics are built into the content to give learners a better understanding of the subject matter. The inclusion of these features gives added value to learners as it makes learning more fun and engaging.
In the first phase of the project, 20 modules were incorporated with e-content but eventually, all 500 modules will have the e-content component built in.
With the launch of the Alumni Portal, it will provide a platform for the alumni, learners and staff of the university to network with each other. With close to 9,000 graduates, OUM can harness the strengths of its alumni to further promote the university through their activities and engagement with the community.
The portal is also a means for the alumni to keep abreast with developments taking place within the university.
In her speech, YABhg Datin Seri Jeanne said it was imperative for the country to have skilled human capital to face the challenging world environment.
President/Vice Chancellor YBhg Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Anuwar Ali, in his welcome remarks, said that the university has achieved a great success in the seven years of its existence.
The University has a great responsibility in making lifelong learning a culture among Malaysians. The University has lived up to its expectation of becoming an institution that provides opportunities for people from all walks of life to attain higher education. This is evident with our cumulative enrolment of more than 67,000 learners, he said.
Also present at the event were the Deputy Minister of Higher Education YBhg Ir Haji Idris Haji Haron and senior officials of OUM.
